The Institute for Danish (Faculty II) at Europa-Universität Flensburg seeks to fill the following position by September 1, 2024:

Research Associate (d/m/f) in Danish Linguistics

This position is intended to promote early-career researchers with the goal of obtaining the habilitation through publication (“kumulative Habilitation”). The position is initially limited to four years and may be extended for up to two further years.

Duties:

  • Independent and autonomous design and development of an innovative study in the field of Danish linguistics, which should ideally lay the foundation for obtaining the habilitation via publication.
  • Active work and possible collaboration in producing academic publications
  • Active participation in national and international academic events and knowledge transfer to society
  • Active participation in the self-administration of the Institute for Danish
  • Active participation in the teaching of the Institute of Danish, e.g., through thesis supervision and the (co)administration of examinations
  • 2 SWS per semester of independent teaching in the area of Danish linguistics (language of instruction: Danish)

Your profile:

  • A master's degree or equivalent with a minimum grade of “good” in Danish, Scandinavian studies, or another subject with a recognizable focus on Danish or Scandinavian linguistics
  • A doctorate with a minimum grade of “good” in Danish, Scandinavian studies, or another subject with a recognizable focus on Danish or Scandinavian linguistics
  • Very good oral and written knowledge of Danish

We particularly welcome:

  • Teaching experience at the university and/or school level
  • Experience with empirical language data collection
